VOLUNTEERING 101

Milford Jr Spartans have no employees. Like most youth non profit programs and its 100% volunteer driven

For EACH ATHLETE you have registered, you are required to volunteer a minimum of 5 events for one athlete and 3 events for each additional athlete. Flag Football and Mascots are required 3 events. Sign up early to get the shift and/or desired position. THERE IS NO BUY OUT OPTION.

If you sign up for a specific date and time, and cannot fulfill your obligation, it is YOUR responsibility to find appropriate coverage for your shift. If volunteer hours are not fulfilled by the end of the season, the post-dated check will not be returned and will be cashed. This will cover the hours for volunteering expected. Milford Jr. Spartans is a volunteer organization and without the support by everyone, the program cannot run successfully. Please help us make this year successful for all athletes and their families.

what does voulunteer time consist of?

Football / Flag Parents:

In Season: You will be volunteering mostly at home games, Jamborees and playoff games hosted by the Milford Jr Spartans. Volunteer slots include chains, MPR's, scoreboard, announcing, concessions, field cleanup, 50/50 and apparel.

Post Season: Any Super Bowl, State or Regional game hosted by the Milford Jr Spartans or in conjunction with the NHYFSC. Every three years the AYF Regional Championships are hosted by NH. The Milford Jr Spartans required to send volunteers to this event to.


Cheer / Mascots Parents:

How do we Sign Up:

Team Parents or Team Moms are parents that are selected by the head coach and the Volunteer Director. Team Parents are the people you sign up with for your volunteer time. Team Parents will be using either an in-person sign up format or an electronic sign up web site or a combination of both. Team Parents are at MOST practices and are in constant contact with their team.

What happens if I can't volunteer?

First thing to do is reach out to your team mom. We understand, each situation will be discussed and kept confidential.


Where and who do I check in with before I start my volunteer time?

Your team parent will select a location where they will be with their sign in sheet. Please remember its your responsibility to sign in and out. If you do not sign in or out you will not get credit for your time.


If the event is cancelled, do I get credit for what I signed up for?

Yes but, if the event is rescheduled we ask that you complete the time you signed up for.


Multiple children in the program on different teams football and cheer, Do I have to volunteer each team?

Yes, the Jr Spartans understand that having children on multiple teams is hard but, helping only one team and not the other doesn't fill the necessary slots needed for each team.


What happens if I do not complete my volunteer time?

At registration you will be required to give us a check for $100 for your volunteer time no exceptions. If you do not complete your volunteer hours or make an attempt to do so, we will cash your check.
